A catch-all e-mailbox is one that captures all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of junk messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to bear in mind that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming emails to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

If you have a Linux web hosting with us and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a given email mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it’ll take literally just one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can select one address per domain by clicking on the corresponding button. This will enable the feature right away, so all emails sent to miswritten addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once again will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got active email forwarding, our system will display a warning note and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be enabled with ease in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have created using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a small button handily located directly next to each one. With just a single click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with the option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the context menu that will appear. If any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will inform you, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
