SRV Records in Web Hosting
The Hepsia Control Panel, provided with each and every Linux web hosting we offer, will provide you with an easy means to set up any DNS record that you need for a domain or a subdomain inside your account. The user-friendly interface is simpler than what other companies provide and you'll not have to do anything more complicated than to fill just a few boxes. For a new SRV record, you will have to log in, check out the DNS Records section and then click the "New" button. In the small pop-up that'll appear, you have to type in the service, protocol and port details. You could also set the priority and weight values, which should be between 1 and 100, which will make a difference if you have at least a couple of servers handling the same service. If you are using a machine from a different company, they might also ask you to set a TTL value different from the default 3600 seconds. This value defines how long the newly created record is going to remain operational after you modify it in the future.
SRV Records in Semi-dedicated Servers
Setting up a new SRV record for every domain address hosted in a semi-dedicated server account on our end will be very easy and will take no more than a few mouse clicks via a user-friendly interface. Through the DNS administration tool inside your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, you can create any record that you need and once you choose SRV as the type, several more textboxes will appear on your screen. There, you must enter the service, the protocol, the record value as well as the port number and you'll be ready. In addition, in case the other company requires it, you'll also be able to set the weight and priority values in case they have to be different from the default value, which is 10. The range for these 2 options is from 1 to 100, so you've got a lot of possibilities if you use a large number of servers for a specific service. You can also define how long the newly created SRV record will remain live in case you erase it in the future by setting a TTL (Time To Live) value for it. By default, the TTL is 3600 seconds.
